Life Insurance

The Walton County School District provides all active full-time employees with a $10,000.00 life and accidental death policy at no cost to the employee.

Employees may also purchase additional life insurance. As new hires, employees have a one-time opportunity to elect certain levels of employee and spouse life insurance, guaranteed, without having to provide evidence of insurability. Coverage is available in increments of the employee's pay from one to 10 times their pay, up to $2,000,000. Amounts of a one-time payment, up to $200,000 are guaranteed. Higher levels of coverage will be subject to evidence of insurability. Child life coverage and up to $30,000 of spouse life coverage are also available guaranteed, without the need to provide evidence of insurability. Coverage is reduced at age 65.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance is also provided if injury or death is a result of a covered accident. Employees may elect coverage in increments from one to 10 times their pay, up to $2,000,000. Coverage is reduced at age 75.
