The Finance Department's mission is to accurately report the financial position and business activities of the Walton County School District. Within the scope of this mission, our responsibility is to be service oriented to all schools and departments while safeguarding the financial assets of the district. This responsibility requires that financial transactions adhere to system policies and procedures while still adhering to generally accepted accounting principles and rules established by the authoritative governing bodies.
The Finance Department oversees the collection and recording of information on all financial transactions for Walton County School District. This includes the accounting and reporting of the school’s Pupil Activity Fund accounts. The department provides on-going financial training for school bookkeepers and department personnel.
The district uses a multi-fund accounting system designed specifically for governmental entities to ensure the district’s financial reports are fully compliant with generally accepted accounting principles.
