R3 - RESILIENCY, RECOVERY and RENEWAL

The Walton County School District recognizes that the past couple of years have been difficult for many of our students, staff members, families and stakeholders. Whether on the job, at home or at school, our RESILIENCE has been challenged in many ways, and even as things seem to improve, we find ourselves and others asking the same questions.
  • How do we process grief and loss?
  • How can we promote safety and success for our children?
  • What do we need to be our best?
  • Will we ever make a full RECOVERY from what we have experienced?
In support of our stakeholders and community, WCSD is proud to partner alongside Dr. David Schonfeld and Dr. Thomas Demaria from the National Center for School Crisis and Bereavement to offer a seven-part webinar series and one in-person conference to offer guidance, support and advice on a variety of topics as we work together to pursue RENEWAL.

R3 Conference

The R3 Conference aimed to help the community understand the impact and ongoing effects of crisis events on our physical and mental health. At the event, school counselors, student support professionals, first responders, law enforcement officers, health care providers, non-profit organizations, mental health providers explored new trends among youth and adults and learned practical solutions and strategies for renewal.

We believe that by discovering our own resilience and increasing awareness of our own character strengths and abilities, we will be able to do our best to create supportive environments to help our community recover and move forward together.
