Our PTO is organized for the purpose of supporting the education of children at Walker Park Elementary by fostering relationships among the school, parents, and teachers.
PRESIDENT:  This position is a two year term.  Shall serve as leader and key contact for the PTO; preside at all PTO board and school meetings; ex-officio member of most committees; appoint chairpersons for special committees; coordinate the work of the officers and committees so that the PTO’s objectives can be met.

CO-VICE PRESIDENTS:  This position is a two year term.   Shall act as an aide to the President; perform the duties of the President in the absence or inability of that officer to serve; assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Board; coordinate the general activities of any Special Committees created by the Executive Board.   Ideally –  with one  willing to serve as President in the future.

TREASURER:  This position is a two year term.  Handles the collection of money from fundraisers, spirit wear, and other money collection activities.   Keeps an accurate log of deposits and expenditures and provides a detailed monthly statement at the executive board meetings and PTO Meetings.

SECRETARY:  This position is a two year term.  Records and publishes minutes for all meetings of the executive board and general membership.  Records all PTO board votes and is responsible for the monthly published newsletter.   Prepare correspondence and perform all other duties assigned; maintain master documents; help recruit committee chairpersons for all vacant standing committees of the board; keep the calendar of events for the PTO.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR:  This position schedules volunteers for upcoming events through Sign Up Genius, email and/or by phone.

SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR:  This position  shall  manage communications for the PTO,including but not limited to PTO email broadcasts, website, bulletin boards, etc.

ROOM MOM COORDINATOR:  This position is the liaison between the executive board and the classroom room parent.   Makes sure the room parents get accurate information of upcoming events, etc., so the room parent can communicate with the classrooms.

STUDENT OF THE QUARTER COORDINATOR:  This position is responsible for making sure each teacher has submitted Students Of the Quarter from their classroom. Coordinates breakfast if breakfast is to be provided, gets invitations out and makes sure the awards are with the certificates at the event during the school year

SPIRIT WEAR COORDINATOR:  This position coordinate the  ordering, inventory, and sales of school T-shirts and any related products.  (Effort varies. Peak sales in August/September.    New design in late Spring/Summer).
