“Engage in on-going conversations with my child’s teacher, counselor and advisor on what it will take my child to graduate, his/her school goals and plans for after high school.”

We encourage parents and students to monitor grades and be proactive regarding communications with teachers and seeking tutoring.

For incoming 9th graders, have conversations about what the expectations are for high school.

For juniors and seniors, have a discussion about goals for after high school and how their GPA and college entrance tests play into those goals.

As always, the school counselors are here to assist students transitioning into high school, making adjustments  and plans while at MAHS, and transitioning to their post-secondary aspirations of attending a four-year and technical college to prepare for a career, enlistment into a branch of the military, or directly entering the workforce.
