Semester exams will be given on December 18 and 19 from 7:30 - 11 am. If a student is exempt from an exam, he/she is not required to attend school during that time; however, an excused absence will be marked during those times. A student is exempt from an exam only if the teacher’s signature appears on their exemption form. If there is no signature, then the student should report to class to take the exam during the published times. Students who exempt all exams need to submit completed Exemption/Check Out forms to the front office no later than Friday, December 14th.   

 

All students in grades 9 through 12 are allowed to check out after exams with this exam check out form signed by a parent or guardian. An excused absence will be marked for students absent during those times. Students may not leave the testing room until the end of the exam period when they will be dismissed by announcement. Students will not be dismissed from exam rooms until the end of the exam period.  

 

MAHS Exam Exemption Policy (2018-19)
1. Open to students in all grades.
2. Exam exemption eligibility is determined separately for each class.
3. Exam Exemption is calculated separately for each semester.  
4. Students must have a semester grade average of 80 or above to be eligible to exempt the final exam.
5. Students cannot have more than three absences in a class to be eligible to exempt that class. (ISS is not an absence)
6. Students must attend and complete all standardized test given at their grade level.
7. All absences, excused and unexcused, will be included when calculating eligibility to exempt exams with the exception of approved school related activities.
8. Students accumulating more than 4 unexcused tardies in any one period will not be eligible to exempt the published final exam period in that class.
