24-25 Course Registration

Students in 9th-11th will begin the registration process for the 2024-2025 school year this week. The registration timeline is below along with a link to the MAHS Elective Offerings Website where you will find helpful information regarding elective courses at MAHS as well as links to our course offering sheets for each grade level.  

Registration Timeline

Thursday, Feb. 1st and Thursday, Feb. 15th: Course Offerings and Registration Information presented to students in Advisement

Thursday, February 29th: Registration Night in the New Auxiliary Gym

5:30-6:30 pm: Join us in the New Auxiliary Gym to visit the different electives booths

6:00-6:30 pm: Dual Enrollment Meeting (11th and 12th Grade Only)

6:30-7:00 pm: Work-Based Learning Meeting (11th and 12th Grade Only)

Tuesday, March 5th: Open Registration--Students sign up for electives and finalize academic recommendations using the online registration form during Advisement. The link to the online registration form will be sent to all student's email addresses. Only one registration form can be completed for each student. This will be completed during Advisement so attendance is of the utmost importance.

Friday, March 8th: The deadline to submit the electronic registration form for all students who are absent on Tuesday, March 5th.

April 10th- May 1st: Counselors will hold individual scheduling meetings with students. This will be an opportunity for students to review their elective choices and academic classes.

May 20th (tentatively): Schedules will go live in Infinite Campus.

Course Application Information
Early Childhood Education (ECE)
Our program seeks high school students who have the desire to pursue a career in education or a field involving children. Each day the high school students write lesson plans, prepare nutritious snacks, and run the Monroe Kiddie Canes Preschool Program. To be accepted into the Introduction to Early Childhood Education, a student needs two teacher recommendations and evaluations.

Tech Aide (Media Center)
MAHS Tech Aides have exciting opportunities to assist teachers and other students with the eSMART program—Chromebooks, computers, and other instructional technology resources—every day in the Media Center! To qualify for the position, you must have taken at least one business or engineering class and must be at least 16 years old.  You must also complete a Work Based Learning (WBL) application for Ms. Brown.

Yearbook and Journalism (Ms. Mann)
The yearbook staff is looking for dedicated, committed, creative, organized, enthusiastic individuals who are willing to work as part of a team. Yearbook staff members must be able to work with others, must be reliable, and must meet deadlines. Staff members must also be dedicated to having fun and creating the best yearbook the school has ever seen!!!

Work Based Learning (WBL) Program
Work-Based Learning placements represent the pinnacle of the Career-Related Education experience. To qualify for a WBL placement, a student must be in the 11th or 12th grade, at least 16 years old and have their own transportation. Students must have taken at least one CTAE class in a defined Career Pathway in order to participate. Before being accepted into the Work-Based Learning program, all students must complete an application, have GOOD attendance, NO major discipline issues, and at least a 2.5 GPA.
