Media Center

WGES Media Center

Welcome to our media center webpage! Students are always welcome in the media center and may check out 2 books at a time. Please remember to be kind to our books and to our library.

Media Center Mission

Our goal is to instill the desire and love of reading. Reading opens many doors. Avid readers become better writers and speakers. They often score higher on tests across the board from classroom unit tests to standardized tests. Reading stimulates the imagination and stirs the creative nature.

Media Center Operation

Use of Media Center by staff and students is based on a sign-up schedule as well as an open schedule. Access to the Media Center is available to staff and students during the course of any school day. The teaching opportunity to collaborate and extend or enrich a curriculum unit is encouraged. Through hands-on activities, library resources and skills will be integrated. Teachers, the door is open to discuss the incorporation of library resources and skills into a specific activity. Teachers, the coffee bar is available any time the library is open!!

News and Information

Lost or Damaged Books
If a book becomes lost or damaged, the fine to replace a book is $15.00. The student will be limited in checking out other books until the book has been found and returned or the $15.00 has been paid to replace the book. Payments can be made through MyPaymentsPlus here.

The best way to keep from having to pay the replacement cost is to make sure your child puts his or her library books back into their backpack when they are finished reading.

Thank you for your help in this matter.
