Daily Announcements

HOSA is conducting “The Giving Tree” starting November 8 th – December 3 rd . Each student is given the opportunity to pick up an ornament and bring in 3 small items that can be gifted to a patient at a local geriatric facility. Students must pick the ornament and sign off next to the number and gender corresponding to the ornament with Mrs. Brock at the front desk. Please bring in the UNWRAPPED items to Dr. Carpenter’s room (A407) by December 3 rd . 
 
This afternoon we have 6 softball players sign college scholarships.  Grayson Cruce, Emily Buck, Caitlyn Canady, Lauren Sommerer, Kinley Stewart, and Caroline Hughes will all be signing after school in the cafeteria.  Please come out and support these young ladies as they continue their softball careers at the next level.  

With Thanksgiving break coming up next week, you may have more time to relax and read.  The Media Center just received a shipment of new books available for check out.  

Please take a few minutes today to restart your Chromebooks.  There have been some recent, important Chrome updates from Google and restarting your Chromebook will help install those updates.  These updates include bug fixes, security updates and feature enhancements.

Students who are NOT enrolled in a band class and wish to participate in the band winter concert need to sign up by Friday morning by 9 a.m. Students can pick up their music Friday morning AFTER 2nd block.

There will be no soccer conditioning for the LHS women's soccer team on Thursday due to the weather and upcoming Thanksgiving holidays.  The next conditioning will be on Tuesday, November 27th at the high school.  Meet in room A307 at 3:15.

Formal Auditions for Next semesters Musical Theater class, 9 to 5 The Musical have been completed, however, there are still spots open for the class and for the accompanying tech class.  If you want to be in the fourth period Musical Theater class, you MUST speak to Miss Williams in the auditorium when you get back from Thanksgiving Break.  Main roles have been cast (and will be announced December 1) but there are still spots in the ensemble open.  Don't miss a chance to be in this fantastic fun show and get a grade for the work!

Congratulations to Kayla Shelnutt who will sign her letter of intent to Auburn University to join their Equestrian Team. The signing will be today at 3:00 pm in the lobby. Friends and LHS staff are invited to attend and wish her well. 
 
The baseball workday for 9 th and 10 th graders is cancelled for today due to weather.
 
Vocal Literary Announcement: Any student interested in auditioning to be a member of the Literary competition in the area of voice, needs to pick up important audition information in the chorus room either before or after school.
