My name is Rachel Peters. I started working as a media specialist at Harmony Elementary School in 2013. Prior to that, I taught Kindergarten, 1st grade and Special Education.

 

I am originally from Oxford, GA, where I graduated from Newton County High School in 1997. Following high school, I attended the University of Georgia where I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I also have a Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology/School Library Media from UGA.

 

In July 2003, I married my high school sweetheart, Nicholas, who works as a pharmacist. We have one son, David, born in 2008, who keeps us both very busy. In my “free” time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, exercising and attending UGA football games.

 

It is my hope, as a media specialist, that I instill a lifetime love of reading in my students. I love to find the “perfect” book for each student!
