I was born and raised in South Georgia in a small town called Cairo. My husband and I moved to North Georgia after we married in 1996 to finish school at UGA, where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Math Education in 1999. I then moved on to get my Master's Degree in the same field from Piedmont College in 2001, and both my Specialist and Doctorate degrees in Curriculum & Instruction from Liberty University in 2013 and 2017, respectively. I began teaching middle school in 1999 and have taught at LHS since 2004.
I have 2 children, one who graduated from LHS in 2019 and one who is still in high school. As you can tell above, I really enjoy learning. Aside from that, I enjoy working to help both teachers and students learn and improve themselves as life-long learners. My hobbies include traveling with my family, reading a good mystery novel, playing or listening to music, and just chilling with our 2 dogs.
