Updated Quarantine Guidelines
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Georgia Department of Public Health, individuals now identified as having close contact to a COVID-19-positive individual have the option to shorten the 14-day quarantine period by choosing between a 7-day or 10-day quarantine period, assuming they remain asymptomatic and do not test positive for COVID-19.

In order to choose the 7-day quarantine period, an individual must be asymptomatic and provide proof of negative PCR or antigen test results taken after 4 full days in quarantine. Please understand that if an individual tests positive then they will be required to complete an additional 10-day quarantine from the date the test was taken.

Individuals who do not wish to be tested but remain asymptomatic may return after 10 days.

All close contacts are expected to continue monitoring their health for COVID-19 symptoms for the full 14-day quarantine period.

These new guidelines are now in effect. Students and staff members currently in quarantine will be contacted by a school administrator by early next week to discuss a new return date based on these guidelines.
