2018 Financial Efficiency Rating
The Walton County School District received a four-star Financial Efficiency Star Rating from the Georgia Department of Education for 2018. With scores ranging from a half-star to five stars, WCSD ranks in the 93rd percentile of the state with only 12 other districts receiving a higher rating.
The Financial Efficiency Star Rating measures an individual school district’s per-pupil spending in relation to the academic achievements of its students. The rating is based on a three-year average of per-pupil expenditures which is then associated with the district's College and Career Ready Performance Index scores.
“I am extremely proud to see our district receive another four-star rating,” said Superintendent Nathan Franklin. “As a district, we value our community and the resources that local tax dollars provide for us. This achievement reinforces the fact that we continue to be good stewards of our local, state and federal funds while providing exceptional learning environments for all students in Walton County.”
This rating is only one measure that the district uses to evaluate its performance in conjunction with all other information provided for each school and district. The goal of the star rating is to provide a comparison of district spending per student with overall academic performance.
