Harmony Names New AP
Harmony Elementary School announced that Lisa Weaver has been selected as the next assistant principal, beginning July 1, 2023. Weaver is currently an instructional coach at Monroe Area High School.

“It is my great honor to welcome Lisa Weaver as our new assistant principal,” said Principal Kim Lester. “Mrs. Weaver has been an asset to Walton County as a teacher leader with great instructional knowledge and a passion for supporting parents, teachers, and students. She has proven to be highly effective in positively changing teaching and learning. She has a strong work ethic and an incredible ability to connect with families. I am confident that her leadership capabilities, knowledge of content, and commitment to students will be of great support to Harmony.”

Beginning her teaching career in 1999, Weaver taught math for over 20 years before transitioning into a leadership role as the instructional coach at Monroe Area High School in 2021. She began her tenure in Walton County in 2015 and was named Loganville High School’s Teacher of the Year in 2019. Weaver holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of West Georgia as well as a master’s degree and a specialist degree from Piedmont College.

“Words cannot convey how happy I am to join the Harmony Family,” said Weaver. “I am a servant leader, ready to partner with our staff, students, parents, and the community. I embrace Harmony's mission of providing a safe and challenging learning environment that fosters respectful, independent students who are confident in themselves as lifelong learners. Additionally, I share in our goal of building critical thinkers who persevere in problem-solving. We will ensure our students experience success every day. I have high expectations and hopes for the coming school year. At Harmony Elementary School, we will all learn together while putting our students first. With a positive growth mindset and stellar work ethic, we will grow our students and ourselves. It is such a joy and honor to be the new assistant principal at Harmony; I'm so very grateful.”

Prior to Board approval, assistant principals are selected by hiring committees at the school level.
