The PAGE STAR program honors Georgia's highest-achieving high school seniors and the teachers who have been most instrumental in their academic development. To obtain the STAR nomination, high school seniors must have the highest score on any single SAT and be in the top 10 percent or top 10 students of their class based on grade point average. STAR Teachers are selected by the STAR Student.

“I would like to congratulate Avery, Makenna, Colton and their teachers on this well-deserved honor,” said Superintendent Nathan Franklin. “The hard work and determination of these students have resulted in academic success at the highest levels and I commend them for their efforts. I also appreciate the influence of their STAR Teachers who have made lasting impacts on their lives.”

At the annual STAR banquet hosted by the Walton County Chamber of Commerce, Loganville High School’s Avery Smith and Dr. Gina Carpenter were announced as co-system winners after a tie with Georgia Walton Academy.
