Roughly 850 WCSD employees have received either the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. Over the past two weeks, every interested staff member had an opportunity to receive the COVID-19 vaccine of their choice on-site. 

"The opportunity to provide our staff with quick, direct access to the COVID-19 vaccine would not have been possible without the support of the Walton County Health Department, said Superintendent Nathan Franklin. "We are extremely grateful for Lorri Tanner and her team of highly professional nurses. As a whole, we appreciate all the hard work they have done and will continue to do to protect our community from COVID-19."

In addition, the school district and health department partnered in January to help connect staff members 65+ with the COVID-19 vaccine. Those who elected the Moderna vaccine will be able to receive the second dose on campus in the coming weeks.
