GSSA Board of Directors

Walton County School District Superintendent Nathan Franklin has been selected to represent the Northeast Georgia Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) as a member of the Georgia School Superintendents Association (GSSA) Board of Directors.

Dr. Franklin was selected to represent 13 counties in the Northeast Georgia RESA by members of the local Board of Control composed of system superintendents, the president or highest administrator of state supported post-secondary schools in the RESA and a local or regional public library director. The Northeast Georgia RESA serves as a resource team that enhances student achievement by providing shared services and building capacity in staff to lead to improvement in schools and districts.

The GSSA Board of Directors is made up of representatives from each of the 16 RESAs in Georgia. As a member of the Board, Dr. Franklin will have the opportunity to meet with statewide representatives and members of the association four times a year to communicate the successes and concerns from local school districts to aid in the creation of policy and laws at the state level.

“I consider it a true honor to have been selected by my peers to serve and represent our area at the state level,” said Superintendent Franklin. “I look forward to sharing the successes of Walton County and our neighboring counties while working in partnerships with my colleagues from across the state and state legislatures to continue improving the quality of education for all students in the state of Georgia.”
