Student and Staff of the Quarter!

Seniors
Kaegan Graham was nominated by Ms. Tricia Brown. She said, “Kaegan exemplifies all the elements of CANES really. She is on time to class and she always comes in ready to learn and work. She pays attention in class, participates in class discussions, and completes all her assignments. She goes above and beyond and does well on her assessments. She is one of the best Accounting students. She also excels in the Work Based Learning program. She turns in her monthly assignments on time and she gets great reviews from her employer.”

Jose Padilla was nominated by Ms. Forrester. She said, “Jose is a leader for his peers. He is willing to work hard and help out his fellow classmates."

Juniors
Brianna Duke was nominated by Coach Gray. He said, “Brianna has always been hardworking and a strong student. However, what I really appreciate is that she has opened up vocally in the class and is now contributing with her voice as much as her writing. I can tell she is engaging with the material and is really putting in a strong effort to better understand what's going on in the political world. I look forward to teaching her in the future.”

Craig Jackson was nominated by Ms. Atha. She said, “He was one of our Tech Aides first semester and is currently with us in the media center because of DE this semester. He does work, including shelving so many books, without being asked. He still does it this semester when he has his work caught up. Craig is a very quiet young man, except when he is playing eSports. He now comes in the media center and will tell me "Good Morning" before I even get a chance to tell him. I have observed this young man in the school setting, as a Marching Cane with the band family and he is a very exceptional young man!”

Sophomores
Julienne Forehand was nominated by Ms. Atha. She said, “Juju exemplifies ALL of the CANES acronyms.  She excels in all that she does. She chooses the right thing and she is also a leader to others encouraging them to do the right things. She is very responsible. She shows this by showing up each morning to be a part of the morning announcements and if she sees that she is not going to be there early, she already has someone to take her place. She enters ready to learn in all her classes and I have witnessed this in Marching Band during Band Camp week. She strives for Success. She not only wants to be successful for herself but for her parents, also. Juju is an excellent student and an excellent leader who cares for her fellow classmates.”

Joshua Hernandez-Tapia was nominated by Mr. Wang. He said, “Josh works every day to be successful. Josh gets along well with his classmates and he always makes sure his work is completed on time. When he is struggling with a concept, he is quick to ask for guidance, rather than just an answer. Additionally, Josh completes every extra credit opportunity presented. There was even one assignment where Josh was the ONLY student to turn it in. He is a friendly, hard-working, well-rounded student.”

Freshmen
Abigail Moss was nominated by Ms. Farmer. She said, “Abigail is a joy to have in class. Every day she demonstrates kindness, maturity, and fortitude. While her work is always exceptional, it is her quiet leadership and her ever-present empathy and grace that make her truly stand out. I know she will do great things at MAHS!”

Nolan Cooper was nominated by Coach Hill-Gilmore. She said, “"Nolan is the epitome of an excellent student. He comes to class prepared daily, he completes assignments on time and has the highest grade in the class. Nolan ask questions and will be taken advance classes next year.  Which I know he will do well in. He has a self drive for excellence. Nolan has a great personality and infectious smile.  He has been a joy to teach this semester."
