Substitutes
Application Period: August through March – Please note the application portal will close periodically for review. During this time no applications will be accepted.
Applications are reviewed on an as needed basis. All applications will be reviewed, and if you are selected as a candidate to be considered for the substitute pool, you will receive notification through the application system regarding next steps in the hiring process.
Applications without all necessary information will not be reviewed and considered incomplete.
PLEASE NOTE: Not all applications will be selected for hire.

Substitute applications are accepted on an on-going basis throughout the year. Requirements
- An online application is required for employment.
- A teaching certificate, para certificate or RESA substitute course is required to become a substitute teacher.
- Links to digital and in-person RESA substitute courses can be found under "Resources" on this page.
- Substituting assignments of 46 or more consecutive days must be filled by a certified, in-field teacher.
- Long Term Subs must work in the same classroom without absences.
