Parent Information on State-Mandated Assessments in Walton County

State-mandated assessments measure how well students acquire the skills and knowledge described in the state curriculum. These tests are designed to (1) ensure students are learning at their grade level and (2) provide data to teachers, administrators, schools and the school district to support better instructional decisions.

WCSD follows guidelines for test security, test preparation, test administration and test data as provided by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) and the Professional Standards Commission (PSC). The links below contain information regarding the PSC Code of Ethics and PSC guidance for assessment (including information about consequences for ethics violations), as well as a link to the GaDOE Testing Assessment web page.

WCSD provides many measures of test security, which includes providing extensive and documented training for school test coordinators, limiting access to test materials, daily classroom visitations by administrators and system-level monitoring and administrative oversight on test days.
For questions or concerns regarding test administration or test security, please contact your child’s school administration or the WCSD Assessment Office at (770) 266-4482.
