Which teacher has made the most significant impact on your life and how?
My 8th grade social studies teacher from Dacula, Mr. Tuthill, has significantly impacted my life. He is an amazing person. He was a teacher who understood his students and wanted to connect with all of them. I still speak to him even after moving here to Monroe.

When my dad was diagnosed with cancer, he was the one to step up and help us fundraise money for my dad’s treatment. He is a man of faith and he has helped me grow in my own faith and shown me what it's like to be a Christian. At that time with my dad, it was hard to trust God but he helped my entire family. Mr. Tuthill impacts every student he meets and teaches. I will always remember him as an amazing teacher and person.

What is the best advice you could give to underclassmen?
  • Take risks.
  • Don't be stuck to one friend group, be friends with everyone! Expanding my friend group has been the best thing for me. Your time in school will be so much better by having people in all circles that you know
  • Do fun things - go to all the dances and the games.
  • Try out for sports even if you don't think you will make the team. I finally made that step during my junior year when I tried out for volleyball and made varsity. It was the best decision of my life. I love those girls and that sport more than anything.
  • Just be yourself don't try to be like everyone else. God made you who you are for a reason, so show it off!
What do you want people to know about the school district? #whywalton
This school district cares about its students more than I've seen in a lot of other schools—especially the teachers here at Monroe Area. Almost every teacher I have a personal connection with not just a surface-level relationship. They are all amazing people. The school has built an excellent foundation for students to have a great high school experience. This county truly does its best for us students and for that, I'm very thankful for the high school experience they have given me.
