Elementary Digital/Distance Learning

Accessing Coursework | Accelerate Education

AE logo
Elementary students will use Accelerate Education to access course work while participating in digital/distance learning. Teachers will connect with students via Zoom while work will be completed in Accelerate Education. Additional information and a demo of the program can be found in the Quick Start Guide linked below. Students should log in to the student portal/Clever in order to access both Accelerate Education and Schoology.
Designated at-home learning coaches (parent, grandparent or another adult at home with student) will be crucial in supporting students as they complete work at home. An at-home learning coach will be needed to help guide students through lessons, discuss concepts being taught, assist with online tools, oversee all assignments, keep students on pace and communicate with teachers as needed.

Attendance

Initially, students were expected to complete a daily attendance check by signing into Schoology. However, teachers now take attendance for students based on activity in Accelerate Education and Zoom meetings.

Beginning with the second nine weeks, elementary students will complete daily attendance checks in the student portal.

Accessing Accelerate Education, Infinite Campus and Schoology

clever
Students can access Accelerate Education, Infinite Campus and Schoology by logging into their student portal/Clever. The Clever Portal is used to get students into all district-supported programs as well as programs teachers ask their students to use.

Daily Schedules

schedules
Similar to in-person instruction, teachers will communicate their daily schedules and expectations during the first week of school. Students should receive a Zoom meeting link before the first day of school where they will be able to communicate with their teacher to learn more about their class. While distance learning does provide more flexibility, students are more likely to thrive with a predictable and consistent schedule.
