Beginning Band
Beginning Band is a performance based class where students will begin to learn an instrument collaboratively decided upon by the student, family, and teacher. Students will learn basic fundamentals of playing a musical instrument including: music reading and notation, rhythm, pitch control, posture, and proper care and maintenance of a musical instrument. Students are expected to participate in daily class playing and attendance is required to all after school concerts. Students are also expected to practice on their own a total of 2 hours per week.
Intermediate and Advanced Band
Intermediate and Advanced Band are performance based classes where students will continue to learn an instrument collaboratively decided upon by the student, family, and teacher. Students will continue to build upon basic fundamentals of playing a musical instrument including: music reading and notation, rhythm, pitch control, posture, and proper care and maintenance of a musical instrument. Students are expected to participate in daily class playing and attendance is required to all after school concerts. Students are also expected to practice on their own a total of 2 hours per week.
