October 4 Early Release Day

All Walton County School District schools will release students early on Friday, Oct. 4 for parent/teacher conferences. Elementary school students will be dismissed at 12 p.m., middle school students at 11 a.m., and high school students at 11:20 a.m.

Breakfast and lunch will be available before students are dismissed. All afternoon bus riders will be transported to their normal bus stops following dismissal. The Walton County School District recommends that all parents of elementary and middle school students schedule a parent/teacher conference to discuss the academic progress of their child(ren) before report cards are issued in October.

Our hope is that you will take this opportunity to meet with your child's teacher(s). If you are not able to make an appointment during this time, please remember that our teachers, counselors, and administrators are always available. We encourage and welcome your participation in your child's education. We firmly believe that when our schools and families work together to support learning, everyone benefits. Other opportunities to participate in your child’s education are available through Parent Teacher Organizations, regular communication with your child’s teachers, and monitoring your child’s homework and study habits at home. Infinite Campus and Schoology are valuable tools you can utilize to connect with your child’s teachers as well as monitor grades, discipline, and attendance. These tools and other resources are easily accessible on website at www.waltoncountyschools.org and are available 24 hours a day.

For more information or to schedule a parent/teacher conference, contact your child's teacher or your school’s main office.
