Congratulations to Devon Sheats,  Akeria Ponder and Jamilah Jones for making  the 2017-18 All Region Basketball Team.

February 6 is the first round of region tournament play. Come cheer on the Lady Canes as they take the floor at 4:00 pm against Jackson County. The boys also faceoff against Jackson County at 8:30 pm. Both games have state playoff implications so lets pack the stands Monroe!

January 20, 2018

The Lady Canes travel to Winder-borrow to play the 2nd ranked team in 6A classification. Their top player is headed to the University of U-Conn. Even though the Lady Canes lost they played much more aggressive than the first time the two teams played back in December. Jamilah Jones lead the team in scoring with 13 points going toe to toe with Winder's Latrice Perkins who had 13 and who is also a D-1 signee. 

Another bright spot was Ceancia Woodford who added 8 points and 3 steals. The Lady Canes lost 74-24 but put up a good fight against one of the nation's top recruits.

January 5, 2018

The Lady Canes were able to put together back to back wins.They defeated East Jackson 44 to 34. Akeria Ponder was instrumental with 24 rebounds, 5 steals, and 5 blocks. Jamilah Jones lead the team in scoring with 9 points.

December 27, 2017

The Lady Canes improved to 5-6 on the season with a win over Commerce. This was a much needed victory as the Lady Canes had dropped their previous last three games. Tydasia Davis lead the team in scoring with 19 points. Akerie Ponder had 14 rebounds and 6 blocks. While Teiuana Maxey, Seirra Carr, Derricka Kelly, and Sa'layia Robertson combined for 13 steals to lead a second have defensive charge to help lead the Lady Canes to victory.

December 22, 2017

The Lady Canes have had a difficult stretch playing Apalachee 35-56, Winder-Barrow 21-66, and Marist 17-60. Our shots haven't been falling and we are not playing 4 complete quarters. However the bright spot throughout this bad run has been the consistent play of JR Seirra Carr and JR Tydasia Davis. These ladies have giving us spark and a sense of fight even when we have been out matched. These ladies are leading the team in steals, shot attempts, and trips to the foul line. The Lady Canes are looking to have a better showing this Friday against Commerce
