Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is Schoology?
A: Schoology is a learning management system (LMS), allowing students and teachers to interact and collaborate online. Schoology allows teachers to post assignments and other resources for their classes. Students can access Schoology from any computer or mobile device with Internet access.
 
Q: What can parents see in Schoology?
A: Parents can view courses, view assignments, and view calendars for all of their students. Parents cannot view submitted assignments, comments from other children in the class, or feedback provided by teachers.
 
Q: Why can't I see my student's submitted work in Schoology?
A: Schoology is intended as a collaboration tool for students and teachers. Parents are able to monitor course content and view assignments, but not review a student's submitted work. The best way to get this type of information is to consult with your child or his/her teacher.
 
Q: What is the difference between Schoology, IC, and the District website?
A: Schoology is our learning management system, where teachers can post course content, provide resources for students, and review assignments. Infinite Campus (IC) is our student records system, where official grades, class schedules, and attendance is recorded. The District website is our externally-facing web presence for people interested in learning more about our schools, programs, courses, and teachers.
 
Q: Can I use Schoology on a mobile device or tablet?
A: Apps are available for both iOS and Android devices.  See the links to the right to download apps.
 
Q: How often will content on Schoology be updated?
A: Teachers will update their Schoology courses regularly throughout each marking period.
 
Q: How does the calendar feature work?
A: Selecting the "Calendar" tab from the Schoology homepage shows an aggregation of all assignments for your student. Clicking the "Calendar" tab from within a course shows assignments from only that course.
 
Q: Why are we using Schoology?
A: We are using Schoology to help bridge the gap between students and teachers outside the classroom. Ultimately, we hope that Schoology will foster greater collaboration among students and faculty.
 
Q: How do I access Schoology?
A: Parent access to Schoology is provided via access codes that are available from any of your child’s teachers. Once you have an established a Schoology account, you will be able to login with your email address and password. You can access Schoology from any computer with Internet access at this URL: app.schoology.com.
 
Q: I forgot my password. Can I reset it?
A: You can reset your password by CLICKING HERE. Enter your email address, and information will be sent to you via email.
 
Q: Why can't I see my child's attendance and grades in Schoology?
A: Schoology is not a replacement for Infinite Campus (IC). IC is our official student records system and that is where you can find data including your student's attendance, grades, and class schedules.
 
Q: How do I contact my child's teacher?
A: The best way to contact your child's teacher is via email. To find a teacher's email address, check the directory.
 
Q: I have multiple children in the District. Can I view all of my children under my Schoology account?
A: Yes. With Schoology, it's easy to add additional children to your parent account. There are step-by-step directions on how to add additional children here.
