eSMART - Tuesday, November 27, 2012

Walton County eSMART initiative

All high school students will receive personal mobile computing devices beginning in the 2013-2014 school year. The e-SMART initiative (Engaging Students through Mobile Access to Resources and Teaching) is about creating a digital classroom for 21st century graduates, individuals who possess the skills to succeed and contribute both locally and globally in jobs that may not even currently exist. These students can take charge of their own learning, challenge themselves to stretch their academic abilities, think critically and creatively, problem solve and collaborate.

Title I Feedback - Wednesday, May 29, 2013

Parent Feedback is Welcomed

All school districts that receive Title I Federal Funds must develop and revise annually a Title I Parent Involvement Plan.  In school, involvement by the family is fundamental to support students’ capacity to learn, achieve higher academic standards, and succeed in school and beyond graduation. The purpose of the plan is to strengthen student academic achievement by implementing effective parental involvement strategies and activities.
The Walton County School District is committed to establishing partnerships with parents and encourages their participation in the revision, evaluation and implementation of the District Title I Parent Involvement Plan.

A draft of the Walton County School District Title I Parent Involvement Plan for the 2013-2014 school year is currently available for parents to review and provide feedback.  Only eligible parents whose children attend a Title I School in the Walton County School District should participate.  Title I Schools in the district include:

Atha Elementary; Carver Middle; Harmony Elementary, Loganville Elementary, Loganville Middle; Monroe Area High; Monroe Elementary; Walker Park Elementary; Walnut Grove Elementary; Walnut Grove High; and Youth Middle.

If you would like more information on the Title I Parent Plan, please contact Eleanor Scott, Federal Programs Director at 770-266-4486 or email at escott@walton.k12.ga.us.
