Loganville Middle 6th Grade Science Teacher Chosen to Participate in International Program

LMS 6th grade gifted science teacher Patricia Macgregor was recently selected as one of 70 teachers internationally to participate in a “Green Boot Camp” program sponsored by the Honeywell Corporation.

Honeywell selected 
70 middle-school teachers from around the world to receive scholarships to Green Boot Camp – a five-day, interactive workshop focused on best practices for teaching energy, sustainability and environmental concepts. The teachers will participate in hands-on interactive educational experiences to equip them with green and sustainable topics, methods, lessons and concepts to pass onto their students.

Originally designed as a regional program, this year the camp goes global, welcoming teachers from the United States, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, England, India, Mexico and The Netherlands.

 

Loganville High School Varsity Baseball 2012 AAAA State Champions

The Loganville High School Varsity Baseball Team was recently named the 2012 AAAA State Champions.  The team ended the season with a record of 31 wins to 9 losses for the year. They have been the Region 8 AAAA champions for four years running and are ranked #23 nationally according to Baseball America.

Monroe Area TSA Tops State for Fourth Year Consecutively

The Four-midable Monroe Area Hurricanes technology team won a fourth consecutive statewide First Place Outstanding Chapter award at the 50th Annual Georgia TSA State Conference.

The first-place team included twenty-seven Monroe Area Technology Student Association members who completed a total of 43 project entries and on-site events.  Team members won top-ten awards in 34 of those events.
 

WALTON COUNTY’S LOGANVILLE HIGH SCHOOL SELECTED FOR ANNUAL BUS TRIP
School Joins Nine Others for Trip That Showcases Achievement

ATLANTA -- The Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education has announced that Loganville High School in Walton County will be a stop on the 2012 Bus Trip Across Georgia.  The theme this year is “Georgia’s Public Schools: Using Technology, Creating Pathways for Student Success.”  The high school is one of 10 schools that will be visited during two 2-day trips that are set to occur October 22–23 and October 29-30.
