Class of Master Teachers

Every year, Georgia recognizes its best teachers. These professionals receive a Master Teacher designation on their certificates, identifying them as educators who have positively influenced student achievement in the classroom. Walton County is proud to have four of the seventy-six master teachers selected state-wide.

The four teachers from Walton County are Virginia Jones (WPES), Cindy Wood (YES), Richard Wellborn (YES), and Elisa Dossett (LMS). The pictures of the first three are below. For more information on the Master Teacher program, CLICK HERE.

Parent Involvement and Title I

Parent Involvement is the centerpiece of the Title I Program. All Walton County School parents/caregivers, and business/community leaders are asked to review the current District Title I Parent/Caregiver Plan. A Parent Plan Feedback Form is available to provide comments and suggestions on revisions to the plan for the 2012-2013 school year.

All Walton County School District parents are invited to attend the Title I Advisory Committee Meeting on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 9:00-10:30am at the BOE office.

House Bill 251

Under House Bill 251, as a parent or guardian, you can request to have your child transferred to another public school within Walton County Public Schools as long as the school district has determined that there is available classroom space at the school after all assigned students have been enrolled.
