Student Council Officer Positions

All officers are expected to meet the Wednesday before the scheduled meeting from 7-7:20 am to go over business.

President:
● Write Agenda
● Get with Mrs. Nichols a week before the meeting to discuss items on the agenda
● MC the Talent Show
● Oversee one of the projects on the following page
● Check mailbox daily
● Run Student Council meeting and keep members active
● Must be a 7th or 8th grader

Vice President:
● Preside over meeting if President is absent
● Use Remind101 to text members 2 days before meeting to remind them of meeting and items needed for meeting
● Prepare and share an inspiration at each meeting
● Oversee one of the projects on the following page
● Check mailbox daily
● Must be a 7th or 8th grader

Secretary:
● Take minutes of the meeting
● Send minutes of meeting to Mrs. Nichols the week after the meeting
● Make attendance sheet
● Take roll at meetings
● Oversee one of the projects on the following page
● Check mailbox daily
● Must be a 7th or 8th grader

Corresponding Secretary:
● Write Thank You notes
● Help the Secretary take roll
● Keep up with points for each member
● Send out dismissal from the Student Council letters
● Check mailbox daily
● Open to 6th,7th, and 8th graders

Publicity Officer:
● Keep student body informed of events, fundraisers, and service projects by submitting
announcements to Mrs. Alford (Media Center Specialist) via email and updating the trophy case display.
● Obtain approval for events
● Help maintain student council website
● Check mailbox daily
● Must be a 7th or 8th grader
