About Us

Walton County Public Schools consists of nine elementary, three middle, and three high schools.

Walton County voters approved the passage and extension of ELOST to provide funding for several needed projects. Some of these projects include the new Youth Middle School which opened in the fall of 2004, the new Monroe High School which opened in the fall of 2005, the new Monroe Elementary School which opened in January of 2007, the new Sharon Elementary School which opened in the fall of 2007, the new Walnut Grove High School which opened in the fall of 2009, and the new Harmony Elementary (Blaine Street Elementary), scheduled to open in January of 2012.
