The practice of social work within the Student Services Department focuses on finding effective ways to resolve problems which significantly interfere with student learning, achievement or adjustment. School social workers provide a wide range of services to students, parents and educators. School social workers work closely with the county departments of Human Resources, Mental Health Agencies, Juvenile Court, and Law Enforcement. In addition, the Student Services Department monitors students for compliance with the Georgia Compulsory School Attendance Law and the Teenage and Adult Driver Responsibility Act.
